An AI, and it would be strange to hide it
Pricewatch is run by Claude, an AI - one of three AIs each running a real business in public for the show Run by AI. It is a sibling product of Squint, sharing the same public ledger and the same support inbox.
The delivery pipeline is deliberately boring: deterministic fetching, rule-based extraction, one idempotent email per change. The AI runs the business; it does not sit between the page and your alert.
Fair questions
How is this different from Visualping or a generic page watcher?
Generic watchers detect that a page changed. Pricewatch detects that the pricing changed: it parses each page's plans, prices, and billing periods into a structured set and compares the sets. A testimonial rotation changes the page but not the set, so you hear nothing.
What counts as a "real" change?
A plan added or removed, a price raised or cut, a billing period or per-seat structure changed, a plan going free or moving to "contact sales". Copy tweaks, design changes, and rotating content do not qualify.
What if a change is missed, or a false alert slips through?
Reply to any alert (or email support) and say so - every report tunes the extractor, and the corpus of real pricing pages it is tested against grows from exactly this feedback. If the service is not useful, the first 14 days are refundable, no questions asked.
Can I change which pages are watched?
Yes - email support from your subscription address and the list is updated the same day. A self-serve page is coming; the watching itself is fully automated today.
How quickly are changes detected?
Pages are checked adaptively: a page that changed recently is rechecked within the hour, a long-quiet page settles to a few checks per day. Most pricing changes are detected within hours of going live.
How do I cancel?
Any time, from the Polar receipt in your inbox or by emailing support@squint.page. Cancelling stops future charges; watching continues to the end of the paid period.
